Non-BJP parties seek suspension of Maha advocate general

Maharashtra Government’s ruling partner Shiv Sena along with Opposition parties Congress and the NCP today took a tough stand against State Advocate General Shrihari Aney and asked for his suspension. The move came after Aney during a public function in Jalna, said since Marathwada region was more neglected than Vidarbha, it should also be made into a separate state. The demand for suspension of Aney led to four adjournment of the Legislative Assembly while Council has been adjourned for the day.

However, Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse has said the Government will give reply in the house in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena ministers and it’s MLAs met Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagade and informed that that party will not attend the proceedings of session in both the houses unless action was initiated against Aney.

The ruckus in the both the houses started soon after the proceedings began. Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil and Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde taking serious note of Aney’s statement demanded his suspension which was seconded by other senior leaders.

Vikhe-Patil alleged that since Chief Minister defends Aney frequently it seems Aney’s views are actually Chief minister’s views. Sena Leader Pratap Sarnaik said MIM leader Waris Pathan was suspended from the house for being anti-national and now Aney should be suspended for making anti-Maharashtra statement.
