NIA busted ‘ISIS module’ in Hyderabad

The National Investigation Agency(NIA) has reportedly busted an ISIS module in Hyderabad and detained at least 11 people. Reports said that searches are still going on and explosive material and cash have been recovered.

Some explosives, a few small arms, fake currency and forged identity documents have been seized from them. The detained persons are suspected to be part of a module owing allegiance to ISIS and was planning to trigger multiple blasts in Hyderabad.

An NIA official said that members of the module were under watch for over four months. After it became evident that the module had gathered material to prepare explosives and secure arms, it was decided to conduct the raid. The arrests were made from houses in Chandrayangutta, Mirchowk, Talabkatta, Bhavaninagar and Mogalpura.
