The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao today assured that citizens of Greater Hyderabad city will get daily water supply in all areas of the city by the end of this year, provided there were good rains this monsoon.
Launching a new water storage reservoir at Nallagandla in the city, the Minister reiterated the State government’s commitment to improve the infrastructure and basic amenities in the city. He said that the focus was being laid on conserving and improving water bodies and parks all over the city.
The Minister said that the TRS government is the first to allocate Rs. 1,400 crores towards water supply in Hyderabad and that a number of reservoirs have come up in record time. He also said that Rs. 1,000 crores are being spent on water works, additionally. In total, he said Rs 4,000 crore worth works would be taken up out of the budget.
He further informed that all the issues linked to the sewerage and the roads in Hyderabad are being resolved through GHMC and Sewerage Board in co-ordination.
