KCR orders raids on all registration offices

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken a serious view of the Kukatpally land registration scam wherein 796 acres of government land was registered to private persons by the Kukatpally sub-registrar (Medchal district), and has directed the state police to crack the whip on the registration offices.

He has instructed to conduct raids on 141 registration offices across the state today, seize the documents which are not uploaded. Subsequently, the police department formed flying squads which would raid the registration offices on Wednesday morning. Police were asked to take immediate action against any irregularities.

Rao took the decision following specific information that all the benami transactions were not being uploaded by officials in collusion with those registering the documents.
Rao also ordered a CID probe into the Kukatpally land scam and asked ACB officials to keep a close watch on  activities at sub-registrar’s offices across the state.

The chief minister wanted the officials concerned to take stringent measures to prevent corruption and illegal activities in the registrations department and prepare tough guidelines, if necessary.

Last night after chief minister wanted transfer of sub-registrars working at one place for long periods, the stamps and registration department issued orders transferring 29 sub-registrars across the state.
