Karnataka Excise minister H Y Meti resingned today submitted his resignation after a CD containing his sexual escapades was leaked. He had informed KPCC president and Home Minister G Parameshwara that he did not do anything wrong but ready to quit as minister if the party wants him to do so. Immediately, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah accepted his resignation.
Meti said, “I am resigning so that the Government doesn’t face any problem. I have done nothing wrong, let the inquiry commence.” Earlier, he accused that the entire episode was a political conspiracy to malign him. Meti, who had consistently denied existence of any CD of his alleged sexapade with a woman who approached him with a request for a favour, submitted his resignation immediately after local TV channels started airing the footage of the alleged sex CD.
The sex CD featuring him is in the possession of RTI activist Rajashekhar Mulali of Ballari. The alleged scandal came to fore after Mulali alleged that there was a CD which had recorded Meti’s indecent act with a woman who had approached him for a favour. It is said that some supporters of Meti have threatened Mulali with dire consequence if he makes the CD public.
