The Hyderabad High Court today termed the Swiss Challenge Method, adopted by the Andhra Pradesh government for construction of a new capital, as real estate business model.
Hearing the arguments put forth by AP Advocate General on the Swiss Challenge Method, the High Court made the above comments. Further hearing in the case will be held on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a single judge bench has earlier passed interim orders putting on hold further process in the Swiss Challenge Model. That order has been challenged by CRDA commissioner and principal secretary (municipal administration).
It may be recalled that the Andhra Pradesh government adopted the Swiss Challenge Model for the new capital, Amaravati. However, the decision is mired in controversy with legal experts, environmentalists and opposition parties such as the YSRCP slamming the AP government for its decision.
