Andrha Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today the Thotapalli irrigation project constructed on river Nagavali to the nation at Vizianagaram. He unveiled the project pylon and released water to 50,000 acres.
The project has a command area of 1.32 lakh acres. The 117-km Thotapalli left canal would provide irrigation to thousands of acres in Srikakulam district. Incidentally, Chandrababu Naidu himself had laid the foundation for the project on November 6, 2003 and inaugurated the project after a long gap of 12 years.
The chief minister announced that the project is named after veteran freedom fighter Sardar Gouthu Latchanna.
