BSP chief Mayawati today said that she has no reservations in shaking hands with other parties in her struggle against Bhartiya Janata Party on the issue of EVM tampering in the recent Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. She was addressing a gathering after paying floral tributes to Baba Saheb Dr BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary at Lucknow.
This was the first programme of the Bahujan Samaj Party after a dismal show in the recent Assembly elections. Mayawati, in a major announcement, also appointed her brother Anand Kumar as party’s vice president on the condition that he will never become MP, MLA, minister or chief minister.
Stepping up allegations of tampering with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) by the BJP during Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, she said the party tampered with the machines in at least 250 seats out of 403.
The BSP chief said, she is being targeted under a conspiracy by BJP so that she stop speaking on the EVM tampering issue Uttar Pradesh Chief Minsiter Yogi Adityanath has ordered an inquiry into the Mayawati-led BSP government’s decision to sell 21 state sugar mills for at a low price in 2010-2011.
She also announced her brother Anand Kumar as party’s vice-President. “I announce my brother Anand Kumar as the party’s national vice president with the condition that he will never become MP, MLA, minister of chief minister,” she added.
