Veteran Telugu actress and Telugu Desam leader Kavitha today left the TDP’s Mahanadu premises in Visakhapatnam with tears, deploring that she was ill-treated by the party leadership at the mega event’s inaugural.
Kavitha, a long-time TDP functionary and actively worked for the party when it was in opposition for a decade, felt insulted when she was not invited onto the dais of Mahanadu.
A miffed Kavitha said she has been associated with the party for the past several years. “As long as the TDP was out of power, I was invited to be on the dais. But, once the party came to power in AP, they have stopped inviting me. Despite being sent an invitation for the Mahanadu, they have ignored me,” she said.
She siaid the TDP talks about women’s empowerment, but ill-treats women. An angry Kavitha declared she would take a decision soon after conveying her dissent to the party leadership. She alleged that since the party returned to power in the state, the party leadership has been ignoring her. She also indicated that she may leave the party, if the party leadership didn’t responds to her agony.
Incidentally, photos of TDP Presidents for both Telugu states L Ramana and Kala Venkata Rao are also not seen in banners on dias.
